YET...

The power of yet. Think of children learning to read or write. Think of adults learning to swim or trying to further their studies. There are many who think, "I can't do this." There are others who think, "I can't do this.......YET."

The first group is likely to give up. The second group will find a way to achieve their goals. They will break down the task, find strategies and enlist help to make sure they get the results they would like.

This is our encouragement to ourselves and one another in our class this term. There are some things we have not achieved......YET. However, we have put in place ways and means to help us get there. And six weeks is time enough to do it.

The visual below helps us to stay the course when things are challenging.

The bottom part lists what students wanted to get good at - in class or at home e.g. running.
The middle part tells what they had to do  to achieve their goal e.g. practice twice a week .
The very top is what they became after persisting with the yet part - a good runner competing at Zone level.
We are applying the same thinking in our school work.
