The Treasures of the Australian Botanic Gardens

Today, our class along with 3C and 4E, went to the Botanic Gardens as a culmination to our study of National Parks.
Stopping to read about this pine tree. It can produce pines of up to 5kg!

Telling the time using the sun dial. And sure enough, when we checked our watches, it was about 11.20am.
The children walked up the mountain two by two hooray!

At some point, it became single file to avoid tripping.

Beautiful flora.

Ohhhhh.....the velvet feel of moss.

Ouch! Not so velvety! That's cactus!

Been there. Done that. The accomplished mountain climbers.
A great big THANK YOU  to Mrs Leake and Mrs Young for accompanying us on our excursion.

A little run and roll before lunch.

Yummy!

Some rest before the final trek.

Mmmmh? What birds are these in the water? Let's read the chart and find out.

Reflecting on the sad events and effects of the Stolen Generation.

A well-earned sit-down just before hopping on the bus to get back to school.

  2. Hello Ryne,
I trust you enjoyed yourself at the Gardens. We explored such a small part of it. Now that you are in the area, I hope you and your family will take the opportunity to drive or walk around to see, experience and enjoy the many other wonderful things in there. Thanks for taking the time to visit and comment on the blog.
